SSERT Freakingerglass£ºSeriously£¬what the heck! I'm trying to assign a variable in my Java code, but I keep getting this error¡£ "Cannot assign a value to final variable 'x'." I mean, how hard can this be? I just want to change the value of 'x' from 5 to 10. But noooo, Java says it can't be done. What's the deal with this 'final' keyword anyway? I thought it was just for constants or something. Is Java trying to tell me that I'm not allowed to make any changes once I declare something as final? That seems really restrictive. How do other developers handle this? Am I missing something obvious here? I'm so confused and frustrated. Could someone please explain this to me like I'm a five-year-old?
